Trigmatic starts rice farm

Hiplife artiste and rapper Trigmatic has begun farming on his four-acre rice farm at Ahwire Nkwanta in the Western Region in the Shama district after launching his “Grow Ghana, Eat Ghana” campaign.

The campaign is to promote farming among the youth in the country.“In order to show seriousness and commitment, I started a rice farm last year with the aim of encouraging young farmers and my followers to start looking in the area of agriculture. This will be my second year in farming and the target is to scale up our operations,” he said.

Actor John Dumelo has also taken up farming. He cultivates a three-acre cassava farmland at an area in the Manya Krobo community.Meanwhile, former President John Mahama, at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group in India on Monday 22 May, encouraged young people in Africa to take up agriculture because the occupation can be “cool” and, with support from governments, profitable.
