The immediate past moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Most Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey’s recent comments, that illegality flourished under former President John Dramani Mahama suggest he could be under an evil spell and need to be delivered spiritually.
Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Bernard Allotey Jacobs affectionately called the ‘educated fisherman’ said the man of God needs to be delivered from constant attacks and contradictory views on matters that bother on the opposition.
“I have listened to him for a while and recently. He has started his usual attacks against NDC even at the time we are no more in government and I think he needs deliverance because he is possessed”, he claimed
The clergy man while speaking to journalists Monday May 22, 2017 blamed the past NDC government under former President John Mahama of superintending over booming illegal mining in the country.
“I don’t want to go into politics but it was under Mahama administration that illegal mining in Ghana got worse”
Professor Martey who has been tagged a sympathizer of ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and confident of President Akufo-Addo also took swipe at “what he described as some corrupt appointees in this current government.
But Mr. Bernard Allotey Jacobs commenting on the allegations leveled against the erstwhile NDC government said, Prof. Emmanuel Martey is only being mischievous urging him to form a political party.
“He is just conflicting himself. He says there are some appointees’ in government now who are corrupt but they do not have to be criticized because NPP has just taken political power for only four months. Meanwhile, he gave us harsh criticisms from the first day former President Mahama took office”
“We know he is a sympathizer of NPP and that is why he says it is too early to criticize government. Maybe NPP he has taken something from them” the NDC Regional Chair alleged.
