Ministers of State for Agric, Education critical to my success – Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has defended his decision to name two Ministers of State at the Education and Agric Ministries.

The President has come under intense criticism for appointing Ministers of State at the Education and Agric Ministries eventhough they have a substantive Ministers and Deputies.

But Speaking at the swearing-in of four Ministers of State at the Flagstaff House, President Akufo-Addo defended his move insisting that after careful consideration he realized that additional talents were needed to augment the efforts of other substantive ministers.

He noted that tertiary stage of education was so vital that he is happy to have gotten an accomplished academician, Prof. Kwasi Yankah as an additional hand to spearhead the transformational agenda in that sector.

The four new ministers include Professor Kwasi Yankah, Minister of State in-charge of Tertiary Education, Minister of State in-charge of Agriculture Dr. Jule Nura, Minister of State responsible for Procurement, Adwoa Safo and Brian Acheanpong also a Minister of State.
